Giving Back

Each year, the East Beach Circle of the King’s Daughters conducts a fund raising event called, Barefoot on the Beach (AKA “BOB”).  East Beach Photography supports this effort by providing complimentary group portraits of the major sponsors and documenting the event.  In 2011, “BOB” raised over $12,000 to support the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters.

In 2011, the first annual Teenapalooza concert was held at The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.  East Beach Photography covered the event and provided free portfolio images for the youth bands and for use by the event sponsor The Noblemen.   The Noblemen are well-known throughout Hampton Roads for providing charitable assistance to youth-oriented entities including Edmarc Hospice for Children, Beacon House, CHKD, and St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children.

 The The East Coast Surfing Championship is the second-longest running surfing contest in the world!  More importantly, the Virginia Beach Jaycees use the profits from the ECSC to benefit our community.  East Beach Photography has an ongoing love for surfing and surf photography and has supported this effort for the past three years and will continue to do so in the future.  The truth be told…there is no better way to improve a photographer’s skill in capturing elusive moments than to shoot a surfing contest!
